Mr. Allen Lanard Robinson

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we acknowledge the transition of Mr. Allen Robinson. Please be in continued prayer for his entire family.

Mr. Allen Lanard Robinson, 45, of Sumter, SC entered eternal rest on January 5, 2024.  He was born on August 29, 1978, in Jamaica, NY to the parents of the late Bruce Dunbar and Agnes Walker Dunbar.  He served in the United States Army from 2002 – 2007. In that time, he achieved the rank of Sgt. He deployed to Iraq twice and fought in two wars:  Operation Endurance Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was a tank mechanic and apart of the Recovery Team and was marked as being “Among the best”. Allen loved music and was a Clemson fan.  

Allen was educated in the public schools of Greenwood County and was a graduate of Greenwood High School, Greenwood, SC.  At an early age, Allen was baptized at the Samaria Baptist Church in Springfield, SC.  He attended Shabach World Cathedral under the pastorship of Dr. T. La’Trell Penny.  He served on the Usher Board and Drama Team.

Allen leaves to cherish his wife, Alma Amanda Robinson, of the home in Sumter, SC; one stepson, William Ja’Bril Johnson, of Sumter, SC; two brothers, Bennie (Sabrina) Robinson, of Sumter, SC and Sugar Ray Robinson, of Atlanta, GA; aunts, Mary (Marion, Jr) Milhouse, of Salley, SC, Gloria Dunbar, of Aiken, SC, and Veronica Dunbar, of Charlotte, NC; mother-in-law, Earthalee Pinkney Johnson, of Sumter, SC; brother-in-law, Abraham Johnson, Jr., of Sumter, SC; special aunt, Toni Williams, of Sumter, SC; special uncle, Richard Dunbar, of Sumter, SC; and a host of cousins, other loving relatives, and friends.

Funeral arrangements for Mr. Robinson will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Sardis Missionary Baptist Church, 265 Walnut Street, Salley, South Carolina 29137.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Dignity Mortuary and Cremation Services, 106 Wagener Street, Salley, SC 29137.
